Strange summer weather yields rapid growth

After two days of eighty degree weather our perennial garden is emerging. It is strange, but beautiful, to see the plants popping up so quickly, so early.
The columbine is already two inches tall.

The astilbe is just unfurling.

A climbing rose has generated new leaves after
laying dormant for five months.

Bow smells the roses.

This is one of many wild onions in the yard.
We use them in soup and salad.

The bergamot is already an inch tall.

Echinacea and sedum growing together.

The cutleaf coneflower was the first plant to emerge. It usually grows eight feet tall and flowers in the fall. Perhaps it will flower early this year?

Bergamot, also known as Bee Balm. It's a favorite. :)
